Rescue Me ID: 15-11-23-00663Charlie (male)

Saint Bernard Mix    Age: Adult

Compatibility: Not Good with Other Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Beautiful Charlie came to us from TX where he had a tough life. We believe he was abused as he watches where your hands are all the time, as if waiting to be hit. He does take cookies gently, though. There are what look to be burn marks on his back and scars on his head and face. He is nervous and shakes until he knows you. He likes walks on the leash and does well at it. At the moment, we would not recommend a home with another dog as there needs to be more testing to done. Charlie does need a foster or adopter with plenty of experience who understands him and has patience and time to dedicate to him. He has so much potential and looks at ... (Read More)you with such soulful eyes. He is heartworm positive, but is undergoing treatment for it. Please give him a chance. With love, trust and time he will flourish. The vet has estimated his age to be around 6 and we believe he is St. Bernard/foxhound mix. (Less)
