|Rescue Me ID: 16-10-18-00523Bella (female)|
Bella is Saint Bernard/German Shepard. She is 6 years old. Weighs 82 lbs. Great Starter saint size and temperament. Compatibility: No Cat or small dogs. She would be the best companion to a large male that loves to play and has a great deal of energy. She is the SMARTEST DOG we have ever had in rescue. She learned how to ring a door bell by watching a dog do it ONCE; She LOVES KIDS and is very affectionate. Personality: Average/higher Energy, Somewhat Dominant Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current. Bella is a wonderful dog that we love dearly, but our living circumstances have changed. She wants nothing more than to be loved, petted, cuddled, sit on your 'lap', have her belly rubbed and to please her family. Bella learns very quickly and would be easy to train. She is good with kids, though a little excitable. I would not recommend her with babies, especially crawling ones. She's a big baby at the vet and groomer and during thunderstorms but is confidently and appropriately protective of her family at home. She does not do well with little dogs. . She does need to stay on a leash and walks well with the gentle leader. She can read her 'master's emotions very very well. She deserves a family that will make her part of it and loves to walk/hike and are active. She is a very strong dog in the leash. She would do wonderfully in a home with a fenced in yard for her to run and play with another playful dog companion. Contact: Dawn 610-787-2353. PS - we have so many more photos and videos. She is so much more beautiful in person. (Less)

|Rescue Me ID: 16-10-16-00408Bernard (male)|
Bernard is a goofy 2 year old male, that is friendly and loves everyone. He was surrendered due to no fault of his own. When he came in he had issues with yeast, but since he's recieved a bath he is doing great and by the pictures he has a beautiful coat. He has been tested with other dogs and does great. He wags his tail and walks nicely next to them. He will need some work on with pulling, but in his defense is full of puppy energy, so we believe this will dissipate with time. We''ve not tested him with cats and we do not have the ability to do so. Due to his size and energy, we will require he go to a home with children older than 13. If you are interested in adopting Bernard, please email email@example.com. You will need to fill out a application, and agree to a home check in order to adopt. |Rescue Me ID: 16-07-22-00123Dune (male)|
Dune is still a pup at about a year old, so we predict he could be maybe 70-80 pounds when fed properly and cared for. We know he is good with dogs, but cats are still a mystery! Read his complete profile and fill out an application on our rescue site- www.reachoutrescue.org

|Rescue Me ID: 16-07-12-00137Polo (male)|
So, Polo was the photo challenge of the day. Why? Because this dog is SOO mellow and laid back that he was content to simply sit and be admired. We could not seem to be able to entice him to stand up for pictures. He is that chill. Polo is a Great Pyrenees mix who is 5 years old and weighs 102 pounds. Polo was turned over to our shelter due to having developed issues toward the cats in the home. He is super friendly, super sweet and just one cool dude. He walks well on a leash. Polo can NOT go into a home where there are cats and he can NOT go into a home with male dogs. He arrived with Shelby (also on this page) and he is excellent with her, and with female dogs he has met at our shelter. SADLY...Polo is heartworm positive. We need a foster or a foster - to - adopt home as soon as possible so that we may begin the life saving treatment that Polo needs. CCHS will pay all costs associated with the treatment of Polo's heartworms. (Less)

Saint Bernard Dogs can make good pets in Maryland if they match your IifestyIe. The Saint Bernard is an enormous, friendly and trustworthy dog. Saint Bernards are very patient with children and are extremely devoted to their people. It is important that Saint Bernards are thoroughly trained and socialized as puppies so that they are manageable as adults. Despite their huge size, Saint Bernards can live in an apartment if they get enough exercise.
