Personality: Low Energy, Submissive
Health: Neutered

I need to re-home my dog. I adopted him about 2 1/2 months ago from a family in Moorpark, CA that could no longer care for him. He is my 4th Saint Bernard, but in the 10 years since I had my last saint, It appears I have developed an allergy to the breed or maybe just specific dogs. I have had bronchitis since a few days after I got home with him. My Dr. is sure it is caused by the dog as an allergic reaction. So he is a wonderful dog who was born around 8/15/15. I believe he is purebred based on my own experiences with the breed, but his coloring is not AKC. I have all his vet and medical records since he was 13 weeks old. He had all his 1 ... (Read More)year shots updated here in Washoe county along with being chipped and licensed. He is neutered, house trained and sleeps in the house. He knows basic obedience, walks well on leash with gentle leader collar. He has absolutely ZERO dog aggression and his favorite activity is going to the dog park, which we do several times a week. He loves other dogs and just wants to play forever. He chases cats, bunnies and squirrels but could care less about the ducks at Sparks Marina. I switched him to high quality Taste of the Wild dog food. He will come with leashes, about 50lb of food, bowls, dogloo if you want it and various toys and all records. He is great with my 8 and 10 year old kids who do not live with me. but they got to meet him for a few days when I rescued him. He had almost no behavior training but in just a few days my kids were able to walk him on a leash without a problem, no pulling or tugging. He has learned basic obedience and on command he will even jump up and give you hugs. he weights about 110lbs. He has great hips and can jump up into my F350 4x4 with no problems at all. I do have some stipulations. 1. you are willing to keep in touch with me and at least contact his original owners and let them know how he is doing. Maybe, occasionally send a photo. 2. I am willing to dogsit him free if you ever need someone to watch him while you are traveling. 3. If he does not work out for you, I will take him back until I find him his forever home (forfeit rehoming fee). 5. he will be an inside/outside dog and part of your family. I am asking a small rehoming fee of $75 because if you can't afford it then you cannot afford to properly care for a dog IMHO. You will get more than that fee in food, dog toys and products included My only other option would be to make him and outside only dog and that is not fair for him. (Less)

Saint Bernards are very patient with children and are extremely devoted to their people. It is important that Saint Bernards are thoroughly trained and socialized as puppies so that they are manageable as adults. lnteresting Saint Bernard Trivia Low-Cost Nevada Spay & Neuter Clinics
Saint Bernard dogs have rescued thousands of people from freezing to death in snowstorms and avalanches. Saint Bernards can reverse hypothermia in a freezing person by laying down next to him or her and transferring their body heat to the person. Supposedly, Saint Bernards used to wear small casks of brandy intended to warm the people they were sent to rescue. The monks of St. Bernard Hospice deny this having ever been the case.
