Imagine there is one person in your life who cares about you..,. she makes sure you have food, shelter and love. She is your world. One day you wake up - and she's gone. This happened to Hobo, the 5 -7 year old mixed breed dog we rescued in GA. His mom had cancer and she passed away. Volunteers found him alone, in the backyard of the only home he knew. They brought him food, water and blankets for several weeks until he was moved into a foster home. We offered Hobo rescue and these pics are from the first moments in VT. Hobo's entire world has been turned upside down. He saw Keith and quickly turned to him for comfort. Hobo's eyes ... (Read More)speak volumes. He's been so very brave but due to spending most of his time alone, he doesn't pick up on all of the social cues other dogs do. We are working on this with him and his adoption comes with 3 private training sessions with Laurie of Dogs Rock Vermont. This handsome dog is crate trained, house broken and has great leash skills. Although he enjoys his daily walks, Hobo is also happy curled up in front of the wood stove napping or having his belly rubbed. He is a great companion. His eyes light up when we talk with him and he is a skilled listener. Hobo has a heart of gold and would love to have a person of his own again. Hobo is heartworm negative, neutered, up to date on vaccines, and microchipped. He is affectionate with people, but finds cats a bit too exciting. Videos here and on our website. Please consider welcoming Hobo into your life. Our adoption fee is $350 which includes age appropriate vaccines (such as Rabies, Distemper, Bordetella, Parvo), spay/neuter, worming, microchipping, and health exam. Discount vouchers for training, grooming and similar dog related products and services are provided. (Less)

lnteresting Saint Bernard Trivia Low-Cost Vermont Spay & Neuter Clinics
Saint Bernard dogs have rescued thousands of people from freezing to death in snowstorms and avalanches. Saint Bernards were bred by a monk to be able to rescue Alpine travelers. Saint Bernards can reverse hypothermia in a freezing person by laying down next to him or her and transferring their body heat to the person. Supposedly, Saint Bernards used to wear small casks of brandy intended to warm the people they were sent to rescue. The monks of St. Bernard Hospice deny this having ever been the case.
