Rescue Me ID: 15-03-05-00692Scout (male)

Saint Bernard Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Adults (Not Kids)
Personality: Low Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

We rescued Scout as a puppy about 2 years ago. His mother was found pregnant in an abandoned apartment building and gave birth to her litter just a few days later. We took Scout as a puppy and have enjoyed his company these last two years. We believe Scout is a mix between a Great Pyrenees and a Saint Bernard. He is mostly white with some brown patches on his long coat. He is about 100 pounds and is in great health. He is very friendly around people (adults) and does very well around other dogs. We had cats and he basically ignores them. He is trained and listens well to commands. He sits, lays down, stays, and walks very well on ... (Read More)a leash. Scout is not comfortable around small children. We have a 6 month old who Scout avoids and has growled lowly at when she crawled near him. We've done everything we can over the last few months to try to ease his stress of small children, but have not had much success. As we plan to have more children, we feel he will only become more stressed and less happy in our home in the future. We feel he would be great for a single person, a couple, or a family with older children (8+). He loves adults and loves to lay for hours near you and be petted. He does not lick very much, nor is he particularly affectionate, but will lay at your feet all day and loves being petted for hours. He is low energy. He has never displayed any interest in chasing a ball, but does enjoy running around with me outdoors or going for a short jog. We greatly appreciate if you can help us find a great home for Scout where he can be happy. (Less)

Saint Bernard Mix    Age: Young Puppy

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current, Mange (Demodectic)

Cuteness alert! Yep, I'm warning you ahead of time'|if you don't want to fall in love, close your eyes and move on. My name is Miller. I'm part pit bull; part horse. Okay'|maybe there's actually some St. Bernard in my bloodline. No one actually knows my heritage, but at 5 1/2 months and 45 pounds, I'm going to be a BIG boy when I grow up! I'll be a playful and gentle giant. I am currently being treated for demodectic mange, so I'm missing a lot of hair right now. What I do have looks like it's going to be thick and longer than your average pit bull type dog. Part horse? No one knows. I'm already crate trained and pretty close to ... (Read More)being house-trained. I have had a few small pee-pee accidents, but they've mostly been right in front of the door. I'm trying to train my humans to put me on a tighter schedule. I've only been out of the shelter a few weeks, but my fosters say I'm doing really well learning my house manners. I know how to sit for a treat, and I'm willing to learn all the things doggies need to learn to be great companions. I am looking for a family that will take the time to teach me all kinds of fun and interesting new things. I'm great with other dogs and well-mannered children of all sizes. I'm what they call 'quite the catch'! So if you can't get enough of my cuteness, let my people know that you would like to make me part of the family.
